“One of the volunteers you recently sent us, Andrea C. is proving to be an incredible asset to the Center. She always has a smile on her face, and her energy and vitality are contagious. “On behalf of the entire Adult Care Management at the Family Service League in Bay Shore, I wanted to thank RSVP’s CCC Program for their generous donation of the colored printer. I assure you that the printer will be put to good use.” ~ Jillian Mellon, Program Coordinator

Just wanted to send you our thanks for the Senior Scam presentation you provided to the Lions Club Senior Center for the Blind. It was unanimously regarded as a success by our members and volunteers alike.” ~ Deborah Costa, Co-Director

“Thanks to your generous donation of two bags of beautiful handmade blankets, we can continue our mission of helping children, families and developmentally disabled adults in need. The girls in one of our cottages loved them!” ~ Maureen A. Fox – Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York

The following is an excerpt from a letter sent to RSVP Volunteer Bill Kerr from the VA Hospital in Northport. Bill teaches computer skills to the veterans receiving care at the hospital.

It is the support from volunteers like you that enhance and fulfill recreation therapy programs and Veterans’ quality of life.” ~ Susan Pisano, Chief, Recreation Therapy Service

All of us at RSVP would like to wish the best of luck to Elinor and Stuart Weinstein who will be leaving their volunteer assignments at the Family Service League. They have served as ombudsmen for the past 7 years and will be missed by all those who were helped because of their care and support.

The staff and Telephone Reassurance clients welcome back Gert Kelleher. We’re delighted to report that Gert is feeling great and happy to be back making Monday morning calls to our very appreciative Reassurance clients.

Get well wishes are being sent out to Sally Economou, another Telephone Reassurance Volunteer. Sally, we hope each day finds you feeling a little better. We miss you!!

Shout out to Lucille Jankowski a volunteer at Mather Hospital for the past 17 years! At 88 years of age, Lucille recently wrote us: “I’m hoping to volunteer another 10 years. Don’t put me out to pasture yet!”
