Tuesday, September 10, was a great day! The occasion was the celebration of RSVP Suffolk’s 47th Annual Tribute Day Expo and Luncheon which took place at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook. The day began with a wonderful exhibition by 34 organizations and businesses who provided a wealth of information of interest to our volunteers and guests. At noon, everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon, along with music, dancing and raffles. A yearly highlight is the announcement of our Volunteers of the Year. Awarded this honor were Gloria Violette and Ernie Granz. Gloria, at age 92, has been volunteering at the Long Island State Veterans Home for 27 years; and Ernie, 80 years young, volunteers at the Fire Island Lighthouse. He has been enjoying the beautiful seasons at the lighthouse for the past 18 years! A warm and heartfelt thank you to Gloria and Ernie and, of course, to all of our wonderful volunteers who give their time and talents to our over 150 partnering sites all through the year!
