Dear RSVP Volunteers, Friends and Supporters:
A Happy and Healthy New Year to all of you ! I hope that 2014 brings all of us, good health, peace and prosperity.
This year represents a change of venue for our largest event, the Tribute DayLuncheon. So save the date – it’s Tuesday September 16, 2014, at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook. This year we will be hosting all volunteers who have given a minimum of 50 hours of service between the period of June 2013 to June 2014. Change is good for all of us, and we are excited to have a new place for celebrating RSVP’s volunteers with a delicious lunch as well as showcasing our supporting exhibitors’ programs and services at the Senior Expo. Villa Lombardi’s has a long, rich reputation for a delightful, opulent environment and scrumptious menu. So write down the date….more details to follow!
In 2014, RSVP celebrates 43 years of service to the residents of Suffolk County through the benevolent gift that the agency’s volunteers give – themselves! All of our our partnering agencies could not sustain their mission or programs if it were not for the invaluable services you provide.
RSVP’s campaign this year is “Tell a Friend” – someone you know in your neighborhood or maybe the social club you belong to can make a difference in other’s lives, just as you do, by volunteering. So please spread the word about the good works achieved by RSVP. Forty-two percent of those people who don’t volunteer responded in a recent survey that no one had asked them to volunteer! PLEASE ASK THEM! The communities they live in will be better for it.
Stay warm, read the “warmth” contained in the following pages and enjoy the wintery weather!
Regards,
Pegi Orsino
Executive Director
