OPTIONS FOR COMMUNITY LIVING, INC. is committed to assisting individuals and families in need to develop their fullest potential for independent living. Our programs help vulnerable Long Islanders prepare for the demands and responsibilities of community life and promote housing permanency, health, safety and welfare. Options operates a community thrift shop in Ronkonkoma and regularly seeks volunteers to help operate the shop. Volunteers help price, sort, display, pack merchandise and sell donated clothing and household goods. The thrift shop also provides a pre-vocational volunteer opportunity for individuals residing in Options’ residential programs. Volunteers work with the residents to help them develop customer service, financial management, and store maintenance skills. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.
